George Breaks Club Record

On Saturday 16 January 2021, George Tsatas will play his 439th senior game with the Surrey Hills Cricket Club. This will break the all-time games record for the club’s 131 year history. George overtakes fellow club legend, Neil Oliver’s tally of 438 games in a career spanning almost 40 years.

During his career, George has achieved most things including winning a 1st XI premiership, winning a 1st XI bowling average as well as a number of premierships in lower XI’s and numerous individual awards. George was named in the club’s team of the decade for the 1990’s and 2000’s and became a life member of the club in 2005.

George has assisted the club in many off-field roles, most notably in the club’s junior program. With three boys having come through the junior ranks, George has contributed countless hours as coach, umpire and many other roles over a number of seasons. George is also a long serving member of the ECA junior executive.

The Tsatas family contribution to Surrey Hills Cricket Club has been enormous with brother Theo also approaching 400 games and George’s eldest son Chris now an important member of the 1st XI. The club congratulates George on his achievement and will hold a small celebration at the club following the conclusion of this weekend’s matches.
